Biography engraver: Gerard Edelinck (1640-1707) was a Flemish-born engraver active in Paris and one of the most accomplished portrait engravers of the late 17th century. He worked for the French court and became engraver to Louis XIV, producing highly refined portraits after leading painters of his time. Biography artist: Louis de Namur (1629–1693) was a French portrait painter active in the seventeenth century. His painted portraits served as models for engravers who reproduced the likenesses of notable figures of the period.
